North Carolina Concealed Carry Class + Basic Pistol
We are now combining our Basic Pistol and the North Carolina Concealed Carry Class. This provides a safe and solid foundation for new shooters, but also provides seasoned shooters the ability to hone their skills.
According to the North Carolina Administrative Code, an individual is required to meet the set minimum standards for a North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun Class. Carolinas First Defense offers an affordable, easy to follow and unique "North Carolina Concealed Carry Class "CCW" class that is designed to offer you the guidance and instructions you need to complete the class even without any prior experience. Our qualified, experienced trainers will provide you the skills, techniques and knowledge you need for a North Carolina Concealed Carry Permit.
All of our North Carolina Concealed Carry Classes are designed to be interactive, fun and enjoyable with activities like, group discussions, raffles and class volunteers. We regularly send all class attendees important legal updates and information to ensure you can keep your family protected in a rightful and legal manner.
NC Concealed Carry Handgun Class "NC CCW Class"
We are able to teach North Carolina Concealed Carry Classes “NC CCW Class” in the following areas: Charlotte, Monroe, Gastonia, Lincolnton, Hickory, Kings Mountain, Shelby, Rutherfordton
Please plan to arrive at about 15 to 20 minutes prior to the class starting. Most classes start at 7 AM and should finish at 5 PM.
*Please be sure to check the Training Schedule for class location. From time to time we do teach in other locations. The Training Schedule is at the bottom of our Classes Page.
The North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun Class requires that an individual that attends must meet several minimum standards as set forth by the North Carolina Administrative Code.
Those requirements are:
a) Course must be a minimum of eight (8) hours long plus range and qualification time.
b) The legal block of instruction must be a minimum of two (2) hours in length.
c) A written legal examination is required.
d) A shooting proficiency examination is required. The course of fire must be a minimum of 30 rounds with 10 rounds fired from the three yard line, 10 rounds fired from the five yard line, and 10 rounds fired from the seven yard line.
e) The Concealed Carry Handgun Class must cover the following topics or it does not meet the minimum state standards:

*Handguns
*Marksmanship Fundamentals
*Carrying Concealed Safety Issues
*Presentation Techniques
*Cleaning and Maintenance
*Ammunition
*Proficiency Drills
PLEASE DO NOT BRING AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM UNLESS INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY THE INSTRUCTOR.
THE INSTRUCTOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO INSPECT ALL FIREARMS FOR SAFETY AND PROPER OPERATION PRIOR TO THEIR USE.
Required Equipment
You will need the following items to take a Concealed Carry Handgun Class:
· Good Quality Handgun (please check the operation of your handgun prior to class. No single action revolvers!!!) You will also need 50 Rounds of Ammunition "to be used at the range," Eye Safety Glasses & Hearing Protection.
· NOTE! Some types of ammunition are in short supply. Please do not wait until the last minute to obtain your ammo.
· Holster (no cross draw or shoulder holsters allowed due to safety concerns) Please bring a belt for your holster.
· Hat or Cap with brim (to deflect hot spent shells and prevent them from getting between your safety glasses and eyes).
· Loose fitting clothing with pockets works best or a coat with pockets for ammunition and magazines. No sandals, high heels, or open-toed shoes will be allowed at the range. Tennis shoes or boots are preferred.
Utilizing Carolinas First Defense Equipment During Classes “ W/ Handgun Rental”We are able to provide you with a handgun, and a holster. The cost of utilizing our handguns and equipment for the concealed Carry Handgun Class will be an additional $50. You will have to use our ammunition for our rental program. This is due to insurance purposes.
Class payment is due after your class registration is processed in order to reserve your spot in the class. We will contact you to discuss our payment options. If you are unable to attend the class, Please see the Student Cancellation Policy on the FAQ page. The class will begin at 7 am SHARP and depending on the number of people in the class, as well as time we utilize at the range, determines what time the class ends. With most classes, we finish around 5:00 p.m., but others can last until 6:30 p.m. We do not choose to teach the class to the minimal standards, because we want to ensure that we go above and beyond to teach you all of the necessary laws, knowledge, as well as all other pertinent information that you will need to successfully become a law abiding concealed carry permit holder in the state of North Carolina.
** If you currently have your NC CCW Permit and would like to take our NC CCW Refresher Class, the cost of your class will be $70, and you will be required to show your valid NC CCW Permit the morning of your class.

Course Eligibility
I hereby certify by my signature that I have no criminal convictions that prevent
me from legally possessing, owning or purchasing firearms.
I further certify that I have no official or unofficial history of mental illness
or substance abuse and that I meet the prerequisites listed for the
course.
I further certify I have never been affiliated with or belong to any gang or other
illegal organization involved or engaged in any illegal activities. This
includes international or domestic terrorist organizations.
I further certify that my only purpose for seeking the training, which I have
requested Carolinas First Defense to provide me, is so that I may better be
prepared to provide lawful service to my employer or in performing lawful acts
for my own use.
Carolinas First Defense training programs depend upon the careful control of each student’s cooperation regarding safety issues; therefore, I understand that my instruction may be terminated at any time if my conduct is not deemed
satisfactory at the sole discretion of the training staff.
That I will abide meticulously by any and all safety procedures required, and that I
agree to sign a statement releasing Carolinas First Defense from any injury I
may sustain during the program.
Where do I apply for my Concealed Carry Permit (CCW Permit) after the class?
In order to obtain your concealed carry permit, you must first successfully complete our course which includes eight hours in the classroom, qualifying with a pistol, as well as a written exam. Upon successful completion of our Carolinas First Defense CCW Class, you will receive a certificate. You must then apply to the Sheriff's Office within your county of residence. The Sheriff shall issue a permit to an applicant if the applicant is qualified under the criteria according to N.C.G.S. 14-415.12.

Our CCW Classes are generally held in Cleveland or Gaston Co.
But we also hold classes at other locations as well.
