Carolinas First Defense “Ladies on the Range” classes are taught by Jesse Saucier. Jesse Saucier competes in practical shooting events on local, national and world-wide levels.

We want to focus on getting more women out to the shooting range! We have seen a recent influx of women at our local range, but they are usually watching their “significant other” shoot. We think that if you are going to take time out of your busy day to go to the range, you may as well be shooting your own gun!

If this concept of shooting (and no longer just watching) interests you, please take a look at our class schedule. All of our scheduled events on this page are for WOMEN ONLY! Our shooting environment is low-key, safe, supportive, and a lot of fun! We have purposely made these classes smaller, by limiting each class to six ladies, because we want everyone to get the one-on-one assistance that you deserve.

Why Do We Offer This Class?

-To ASSIST women with firearms safety and basic to advanced pistol instruction.
-To EMPOWER women with the knowledge & confidence required to shoot a handgun proficiently.
-To INCREASE the number of responsible women firearm owners.  There are far too many women at the range       watching their “significant others” enjoying the sport.
-To ENCOURAGE women to get out of their comfort zone and compete in organized shooting sports.
-To EDUCATE women about firearms ownership and the importance of our Second Amendment Right.

 “Ladies on the Range” Class Information

-Our “Ladies on the Range” class is for any woman who is a beginner and inexperienced with shooting.
-The “Ladies on the Range” class may also appeal to women that want to brush up on their basic Pistol Skills.
-If you have your CCW and want to expand your knowledge of shooting, this class is   a good start!
-No previous pistol / shooting experience required.
-You must be 21 years of age or older to enroll.  16 – 20 year olds may be conditionally accepted, but parents must be present at all times during the class.

 The following areas are discussed during this course:

* Range Safety Rules
* Gun Safety Rules
* Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship
* The Draw and Proper Presentation to the Target
* Reloading Drills
* Malfunctions
* Firing Multiple Shots on One Target
* Training Methodology and Drills

 CLASS SIZE

Openings are limited to  6– 8 students, based on group experience and individual skills. If the class is full, we will notify you of other optional dates.

CLASS TIMES

This class is a four-hour class and starts promptly at 8 a.m. and will end around 12 p.m., or our afternoon class begins at1 p.m. to 5 p.m..

 CLASS COST

$125.00 per person if you bring your own revolver or pistol, magazines, 250 rounds of ammo, and holster.
-OR-
$200.00 per person, which includes the “rental” of a .22 caliber pistol, magazines, ammo and holster.

I took this class yesterday, Saturday, September 6th, 2014. I recommend this class to any female with any experience level. I went into this class nervous since I haven't shot a gun well over 2 years. As time went on, the instructors, Jesse and David, raised my confidence level and I started having so much fun. I learned more about trigger press and never really knew what that was until Jesse and David taught us that. It took me all day to unlearn some bad habits. And I know it will take a lot of practice and they showed us some great practice techniques. They also took the time to allow us to practice drawing from our holster within our purses! I really look forward to any future classes that Carolina's First Defense offers. There is no such thing as over learning and they make this class a lot of fun. The time went by really fast even when going in I thought it was going to be way to long. For females that still may be nervous, we had a first time shooter in our class. She did amazing and we took the class at her pace. Jesse worked with her, while David would work with the others so nobody was ever bored. Seriously a great class and I am ready to take it again!

Ladies, get on the range with Jesse. He helped me correct bad habits, and form new ones that will now allow me to hit the target from any holster. My confidence in carrying my weapon was greatly improved with his help on pull, aim and trigger control. ALL ladies need to take this class, well worth your money.

As a beginner gun user, this class was just what I needed. With Jesse's wonderful expertise, I immediately knew that I was in good hands. The class size is small allowing for multiple opportunities for one-on-one assistance. Jesse really makes you feel at ease, gives great direction and makes the class not only a good learning experience but also loads of fun! I now feel more at ease knowing that I can properly draw my gun from a holster, fire, rapidly changing magazine and a multitude of other very valuable skills. Thanks to Jesse, I am much more comfortable around and while using my gun! This is an class that every female gun owner should take and I know that I will be attending it in the future!

I had never used a firearm before my familiarization class. I was amazed at how well I transitioned from knowing nothing to having an impressive first time target. I could not believe I got them all on the target. Jesse was very patient in helping me understand the basics of safety and how to use the handgun. I am so thankful for this type of class. I would strongly suggest any of you ladies who are not familiar with firearms giving Carolinas First Defense a try. Great instruction and great results.

I will do it again!
This was so good for me to do! I need to be more familiar with my gun - feel more comfortable with shooting it. And this is a great way to get going with it AND have good skills. Jesse is patient and skilled and just amazing with people - men, women, anyone! You owe it to yourself to be better skilled. You will think you know what you are doing until you take this class:)
