2 Day Basic Precision Rifle Course (2 Days)

This is a two day course designed for the novice marksman, but it is highly encouraged and recommended for those who have had little or no formal training to attend. Precision Rifle (1) is an intense two-day course is designed to give students an advance perspective into the science and key fundamentals involved in precision rifle shooting. The concepts taught in this course can be applied to most, if not all, rifle shooting practices. Students will learn tools and techniques to ensure precision rifle shooting. Students will increase their personal knowledge encompassing the discipline, knowledge, and practical application required to precision rifle practices. During the course, students will learn to engage out to 720 yards. All students, other than active duty military or law enforcement, have a concealed carry permit, or must be willing to submit a criminal background check. Students that complete the course will have a basic proficiency in firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals and a combined knowledge of their personal capabilities with their equipment. This course consists of two 8-hour days with a combination of classroom and fieldwork. Concepts covered include but not limited to:

* Precision Weapon System Nomenclature
* Weapon Set-Up and Accessories
* Telescopic Sight Theory and Operation
* Internal and External Ballistics
* Fundamentals of Precision Rifle Marksmanship
* Zeroing the Precision Rifle
* Terminology utilized in Precision Rifle Shooting
* How to use a Data Book (effective recording& data analysis) 
* Basics in Range Estimation
* Weapons Maintenance
* Target Engagements from 25 to 720 yards

Training Schedule:
Please be sure to arrive by 7:30am and ready for class to start promptly at 8am and will finish at 5pm both days.


Required Equipment:
This course requires a precision weapon system capable of producing at least One Minute Of Angle (MOA) accuracy coupled with a telescopic sight that is capable of MOA or Milradian (MIL) adjustments with a range-finding reticle.  Caliber selection is broad with a minimum caliber required of 5.56/223 or larger with most shooters utilizing the .308 Winchester or .300 Winchester Magnums.  It is highly recommended that shooters bring with them any tools associated with their particular optic for adjustments and zeroing procedures as well as an operations manual to help identify the myriad of range finding reticles offered in the market today.

* Front and Rear Rifle supports.  (Bipods and a bean-bag)

* Rifle sling capable of use for sling supported shooting positions and supporting the weapon in a carry mode

* Eye and Ear Protection
* Baseball or Boonie Style Hat
* Portable hydration system such as a Camelbak or water bottles
* A pack that is suitable for carrying all of your range gear.
* Range Chair 
* Spotting Scope and Tripod (Highly Recommended)
* Binoculars (Highly Recommended)
* Shooting Mat (Highly Recommended)
* Laser Rangefinder (Highly Recommended)
* Personal Ballistic Computer/PDA (Highly Recommended)
 
**We recommend you wear comfortable shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty. (We will shoot rain, shine, sleet or snow. Please be prepared and check the weather.)**

Prerequisite: 
*Must have a Valid Concealed Carry Handgun Permit or have    taken a CCW Class with us.
*Current LEO or Retired LEO
* or must be willing to submit a criminal background check


Credential Policy:
CDF requires applicants for training to submit documentation of 
responsibility before being accepted as students. Each prospective student must submit the credentials applicable to the course of instruction desired and include the credentials with the completed enrollment form. (you may emil a copy of them)

The cost of the class is $350/per person. Class payment is due after your class registration is processed in order to reserve your spot in the class. We will contact you to discuss our payment options. If you are unable to attend the class, your payment is non-refundable, but a customized gift card for the value of your purchase will be issued to you so that you may take another class when scheduling allows. The class will begin at 8:00 am SHARP!
